Epiphone FT-79 Texan

It's the guitar in 'Yesterday'. Immediately becoming an icon in the hands of Paul McCartney, the Epiphone Texan is the only guitar Paul has officially endorsed…

In 1964, when Paul McCartney went to purchase his Epiphone Casino, he also came home with another Epiphone guitar. This Texan FT-79 (Flat Top model 79) from 1964, once set up for left-handed playing, was used by Paul for much of his acoustic work starting from the sessions for the album Help!. The most famous track recorded with this acoustic guitar is undoubtedly Yesterday. He played the same song with this guitar in the legendary performance on the Ed Sullivan Show. The Epiphone Texan is the only guitar Paul has endorsed and continues to be played in his concerts to this day.
